Company Hankook & Company's donations towards Community Chest of Korea reached KRW 12.8 billion 2022. 04. 29 - Hankook & Company donates an additional KRW 750 million in support of local communities - Total amount of donations since 2003 contributed by the company reached KRW 12.8 billion - Demonstrating Hankook & Company's support of social welfare institutions and local communities Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., the holding company of Hankook Tire & Technology, has made an additional donation of KRW 750 million to the Community Chest of Korea (CCK), the largest community-impact charity institution in Korea. Since 2003, Hankook & Company has been continuously making donations to the CCK, demonstrating its vision of creating prosperity and synergy in local communities. Through the added donation, the total amount of donations contributed by the company to CCK for 19 consecutive years reached KRW 12.8 billion. The new donation will be allocated to help underprivileged neighbors in the areas of Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungcheongnam-do. Hankook & Company Group continues to sponsor local communities in times of need. In 2020, KRW 100 million was donated to help those in Daejon and Chungcheongnam-do recover from damage caused by heavy rain, and KRW 500 million was also donated to support vulnerable groups such as low-income families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, KRW 200 million was donated to support victims in the east coast of Korea including Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Samcheok, Gangwon-do affected by forest fires that occurred in March. Its major affiliate company Hankook Tire is also carrying out a variety of activities in line with its slogan of 'Driving towards Happiness' by making donations relating to the topic of mobility. Its representative program, the Car Donation Project, began in 2008 with the aim of supporting social welfare institutions facing transportation difficulties. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the company's foundation last year, 80 vehicles were contributed, including 78 light vehicles and 2 electric vehicles. By 2021, the number of vehicles provided during the program's 14 years in running amounted to approximately 627 vehicles.
