[Recall] Kinergy GT H436 235/50R19H
Dear Hankook Tire Customer,
This notice is to inform you of a recall in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (NHTSA, campaign number 21T011)
On July 16, 2021, Hankook Tire America Corporation (Hankook Tire) reported that it will conduct a recall on certain Hankook brand Passenger tires manufactured between January 30, 2021, and February 6, 2021. The specific tires are the Kinergy GT H436 235/50R19H. The recalled tires were installed as Original Equipment on new Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles (model years 2021 and 2022) and are further identified based on the tire identification number and specific bar codes described below.
REASONS FOR THIS VOLUNTARY RECALL
A small batch of passenger tires produced as Original Equipment tires for 2021 and 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain were affected by a manufacturing irregularity. Consumers may hear noise or feel vibration when driving. At high speed, tread delamination may occur which may cause a crash.
TIRE INFORMATION
The affected tires were produced between January 30, 2021, and February 6, 2021. The U.S. Department of Transportation (“DOT”) identification number of the affected tires is 00T23 1B H0 0521. The DOT number can be found on the sidewall near the bead, as shown below. The tires are also identified by the barcode numbers as filed with NHTSA. The barcode number should be checked by your GM dealer. It is located right above the bead of the tire, as shown below, and is often covered by the rim.
The tire must meet both the DOT and barcode number to be part of the recall. However, Hankook will also replace tires with an unreadable barcode. If a vehicle has one or three tires installed that are part of the recall, Hankook will provide replacement tires to ensure that both tires on an axle are replaced.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
If you have one of the affected tires as Original Equipment on one of the earlier mentioned GM vehicles, please contact the GM dealer where you purchased your vehicle. This is especially important if you notice a bulge in the tire or excessive vibration. Your dealer will then schedule an appointment to check the tire and, if part of the recall, have a replacement tire mounted.
Any consumer who believes they are affected by the recall should not wait to receive notification but should follow the instructions above. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact your local Hankook dealer or the Hankook Tire Customer Service Team at the following contact number.

WHAT WE WILL DO
If your tire(s) match the DOT number and barcode subject to this recall, we will, through your vehicle or tire dealer, replace the affected tire with a new tire of the same size and description free of charge through December 31, 2021, including mounting, balancing, and taxes.
From January 1, 2022, cost of the tires will be credited based upon the remaining unused tread depth of the tire. For example, if the tire that is being presented is 45% worn, you will receive a credit equal to 55% of the cost of the tire.
We regret any inconvenience that this action may cause you. If we or your Hankook dealer fails or is unable to remedy this effect by payment or credit of the cost of your tire and within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint to: Administrator - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20590, or call the Auto Safety Hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 (TTY:1-800-424-9153) or visit www.safercar.gov
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Sincerely,
Hankook Tire America Corp.
