Seoul, Korea, November 2, 2026 — A leading global tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) hosted its ‘2026 Design Innovation Day’ on October 30 at Hankook Technodome, its state-of-the-art R&D center located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea.

Held under the theme ‘Shaping Identity, Sculpting Performance,’ this year’s Design Innovation Day provided an opportunity to share Hankook Tire’s design strategies and key achievements with employees.

In particular, the event marked a step beyond presenting design concepts and a future vision, as Hankook Tire unveiled a unified product design identity framework for its key brands for the first time. These include iON, the world’s first full-lineup tire brand exclusively for electric vehicles (EVs), Ventus, its flagship brand, and Dynapro, its dedicated SUV tire brand.

Hankook Tire also unveiled its next-generation product design language for the first time, outlining how it will be applied to future products. This new framework further defines the design direction for each brand and establishes a consistent approach to product design across its portfolio.

The event consisted of three sessions. The first session focused on design strategies for effectively expressing product performance while maintaining brand identity. It also introduced guidelines for translating the “invisible performance” developed during the R&D process into design elements that consumers can recognize, with distinct approaches tailored to different product characteristics.

Another session highlighted the next-generation product design language for iON, Ventus and Dynapro, translating each brand’s core values into distinctive design elements. Building on this approach, Hankook Tire shared a framework for collaboration across R&D, product planning, marketing and design teams, enabling them to work together on product development under a unified set of design standards.

Through the event, Hankook Tire aims to align its design strategies and direction across the organization, improve product development efficiency and accelerate decision-making, while reinforcing its global brand recognition and premium brand image. The company also plans to further enhance its design competitiveness in original equipment (OE) tire collaborations with global automakers and product development for global markets.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire continues to gain global recognition for its design excellence through multiple wins at major international design awards. At the 2026 Red Dot Design Awards, the company won three awards in the Product Design category for Ventus evo, iON AT and Laufenn S FIT2. It also received six awards in the Design Concept category, including two Best of the Best honors and four Red Dot awards.
