Concepción, Chile, September 14, 2026 — A leading global tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook), the exclusive tire supplier to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), successfully supported Round 12 of the seasons, WRC Rally Chile Biobío, which concluded on September 13 around Concepción, Chile.

WRC Rally Chile Biobío featured 16 Special Stages (SS) covering a total competitive distance of 311.18 kilometers through forest roads and rugged unpaved hills around Concepción and the Biobío region along Chile’s Pacific coast.

The route combined a succession of fast corners with hard-packed gravel formed from volcanic ash particles and small stones, testing the limits of drivers and tires alike. Repeated runs over rough terrain further intensified the challenge, underscoring the rally’s difficult conditions.

Hankook supplied its all-terrain rally tire, the Dynapro R213, supporting teams throughout stages around Concepción and across the Biobío region.

Offered in Hard and Soft compounds to suit surface and weather variables, the Dynapro R213 enabled strategic tire selection for each team, providing flexibility across steep gradients and varied surfaces, from soft dirt to coarse gravel.

Toyota GAZOO Racing World Rally Team’s Oliver Solberg claimed his second victory of the season, following his win at Rallye Monte-Carlo. The result also secured Toyota the 2026 Manufacturers’ Championship title, marking the team’s sixth consecutive title since 2021 and its 10th Manufacturers’ title overall.

The 2026 WRC season continues with Round 13, WRC Rally Italia Sardegna, taking place from October 1 to 4 around Alghero, Sardinia. The event combines harsh coastal and inland mountain roads with sharp corners and blind crests that restrict forward visibility, placing high demands on tire traction and durability.

Since becoming the exclusive rally tire supplier across all WRC classes in the 2025 season, Hankook has supported the championship across a wide range of rally environments. By actively leveraging extensive driving data gathered through the championship in its research and development (R&D), the company drives innovation in high-performance tire technology while strengthening its competitiveness as a global top-tier brand.
