Seoul, Korea, August 11, 2026 — A leading global tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced its consolidated global financial results for the second quarter of 2026, reporting revenue of KRW 5.6824 trillion and operating profit of KRW 559 billion. Revenue and operating profit rose 5.8% and 58.1% year-over-year, respectively.

In the tire business, sales grew 11.8% year-over-year to KRW 2.8073 trillion, while operating profit rose 39.5% to KRW 483.2 billion, with an operating margin of 17.2%. In the thermal management segment, Hanon Systems—consolidated as a subsidiary of Hankook Tire since 2025—reported second-quarter 2026 sales of KRW 2.8752 trillion and operating profit of KRW 103.7 billion, while also returning to net profitability during the quarter.

Hankook Tire achieved record-high quarterly revenue by continuing to strengthen its portfolio of high-value-added products, including 18-inch and larger tires and EV-dedicated tires.

By region, revenue growth was driven by expanded original equipment (OE) tire supply and stable replacement equipment (RE) tire demand in key markets, including Europe and China. In China, in particular, replacement tire sales increased notably as EVs entered their tire replacement cycles.

In the second quarter of 2026, 18-inch and larger tires accounted for 49.5% of total passenger car and light truck (PCLT) tire sales, while electric vehicle (EV) tires represented 31.8% of PCLT OE tire sales. These figures are approaching the annual targets of 51% and 33%, respectively, reflecting Hankook Tire’s continued focus on strengthening its high-value-added product portfolio.

In the second quarter of 2026, Hankook Tire demonstrated its technological capabilities in the premium sports car market by supplying original equipment tires for the Porsche 911 Carrera. Hankook Tire further strengthened its presence in the premium SUV market by supplying original equipment tires for Audi’s flagship ‘Q7’ and ‘Q9’ SUVs, as well as the ‘All-New QX65’ from Nissan’s premium brand, ‘INFINITI’.

Hankook Tire also continues to strengthen its presence in the global EV tire market through ‘iON’, the world’s first full-lineup EV-specialized tire brand. The company incorporates technologies and data accumulated through the ‘FIA Formula E World Championship’, the world’s premier electric vehicle racing series, into its product development. The competitiveness of the ‘iON’ lineup has also been recognized through achievements including a Winner award in the Product Design category at Germany’s ‘Red Dot Design Award’ and an overall first-place finish in a tire test conducted by German automotive magazine ‘Auto Bild’.

Hankook Tire supplies racing tires and sponsors participating teams in more than 70 global motorsport competitions, including the ‘FIA World Rally Championship (WRC)’ and ‘Lamborghini Super Trofeo’. Data and insights gained under the extreme conditions of motorsport are actively applied in the development of integrated tire solutions spanning internal combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles, and next-generation mobility.

Hankook Tire continues to strengthen its global supply capabilities based on the ongoing expansion of its Tennessee plant in the U.S. and its Hungary plant in Europe. Building on these expansions, the company aims to proactively respond to demand in key markets, including the U.S. and Europe, while further solidifying its market leadership by expanding global original equipment tire supply.
