Seoul, Korea, November 6, 2026 — A leading global tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced its consolidated global financial results for the third quarter of 2026, reporting revenue of KRW 5.465 trillion and operating profit of KRW 598.8 billion.
In the tire business, sales grew 3.7% year-over-year to KRW 2.8083 trillion, reaching a record quarterly high, driven by increased sales volume and favorable foreign exchange effects. Operating profit declined 2.6% year-over-year to KRW 505.9 billion, as rising raw material and logistics costs amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East weighed on profitability. However, increased sales of high-value-added products partially offset the impact.
In the thermal management segment, Hanon Systems—consolidated as a subsidiary of Hankook Tire since 2025—reported third-quarter 2026 sales of KRW 2.6569 trillion, down slightly by 1.8% year-over-year, while operating profit increased 26.6% to KRW 120.6 billion.
Hankook Tire offers a diverse portfolio of tires measuring 18 inches and above, winter tires and EV-exclusive tires to meet varying consumer demands. For the first nine months of 2026, tires measuring 18 inches and above accounted for 49.4% of passenger car and light truck tire sales, while EV-exclusive tires represented 32.3% of original equipment (OE) tire sales in the same segment.
Hankook Tire continues to expand its OE tire partnerships with global premium automakers. This year, the company demonstrated its technological capabilities and product competitiveness in the high-performance sports car market by supplying OE tires for the Porsche 911 Carrera. Hankook Tire is also strengthening its position in the global OE market by expanding its OE tire portfolio to include a wider range of vehicles, such as the Porsche Panamera luxury sports sedan and the Volkswagen Atlas SUV.
Hankook Tire is expanding its presence in the electric vehicle (EV) market with iON, the world’s first full-lineup EV-specialized tire brand. Leveraging EV-specific technologies developed ahead of the transition to electric mobility, the company is enhancing its competitiveness in the replacement equipment (RE) tire market. At the same time, Hankook Tire has gained recognition for its innovative technologies by supplying OE tires for key electric models from premium automakers this year, including the Porsche Taycan and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Hankook Tire supplies racing tires for global motorsport competitions, including the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The company is also expanding the application of its innovative technologies to future mobility through the development of next-generation tire technologies, such as its non-pneumatic tire, i-Flex.
