Seoul, Korea, January 28, 2026 — Hankook Tire & Technology Co., Ltd. (hereafter Hankook), a leading global tire company of Hankook & Company Group (Chairman Hyunbum Cho), sets its sights on a new U.S. challenge as Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship reaches Round 3 at the 2026 Miami E-Prix. Staged at the Miami International Autodrome, the event marks Formula E’s first World Championship race at this venue—already familiar to fans as the home of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and, more recently, Formula E’s Evo Sessions.

Formula E is expected to compete on a shorter configuration tailored to the series’ acceleration and regenerative braking characteristics. Set around the Hard Rock Stadium, the 2.32 km, 14-turn Miami International Autodrome blends permanent asphalt with sections of the stadium’s surrounding areas, creating a compact yet technically demanding circuit. From a performance standpoint, the layout emphasizes rapid warm-up requirements, corner-exit traction, and stability under heavy braking, presenting a balanced test for teams and tire performance alike.

As with any new circuit, the Miami weekend introduces a familiar Formula E variable: rapid track evolution. The track is a purpose-built, temporary-style venue integrated into the stadium grounds and surrounding paved areas, which can generate shifting grip levels as the surface progressively rubberizes—particularly through braking zones and high-load direction changes. Under these conditions, tire performance consistency becomes critical for teams, with predictable temperature build-up and dependable traction playing a decisive role in both qualifying execution and race-long energy efficiency.

Hankook’s iON Race tire is engineered for these high-demand scenarios, combining an optimized tread pattern and compound technologies to deliver strong track adhesion and precise handling while maintaining low rolling resistance—an essential balance in a championship where efficiency and control are inseparable from outright pace.

“Miami is the type of venue that immediately raises the technical stakes,” said Manfred Sandbichler, Senior Director of Hankook Motorsport. “With a Formula E layout making its first championship appearance at the Miami International Autodrome, teams arrive without the usual backlog of race-weekend references. That places even greater importance on tire consistency, traction stability, and temperature control. We’re looking forward to seeing the iON Race support close, high-intensity racing as Formula E brings its street-racing character to Miami.”

Meanwhile, Hankook is rapidly expanding its influence in the North American market, leveraging its innovative technology and the premium status of its global integrated brand, ‘Hankook.’ In addition to the Miami E-Prix, the company continues to drive its premium growth strategy by serving as a ‘Founding Partner’ and the ‘Official Tire Partner’ of the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL), a cutting-edge U.S. simulation golf league.

Off-track, Miami is set to deliver a festival atmosphere distinctive to Formula E, with the championship’s on-site fan experience featuring live entertainment, simulator challenges in the Gaming Arena, and a range of local food and drink offerings throughout race day.

With home-linked teams including Andretti and DS PENSKE set to race in front of a U.S. crowd, and a newly configured circuit placing fresh demands on every aspect of performance, the 2026 Miami E-Prix is set to add another compelling chapter to Season 12—powered by Hankook’s proven iON Race at the center of the action.
