Hankook Tire Renews Partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank
- Hankook to help combat food insecurity in Tennessee through mobility
- Mobile Pantry set for Saturday, June 25 in Clarksville, Tenn.
Nashville, Tenn., June 21, 2022 – To assist those struggling with food insecurity, leading global tire maker Hankook Tire is continuing to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to enable the distribution of more than 40 million meals a year. Hankook will sponsor a 53-foot trailer in Second Harvest’s Tennessee fleet, which travels 50,000 miles each year to help those in need throughout West and Middle Tennessee. In addition, Hankook is continuing its ongoing sponsorship of three Mobile Pantries in the Nashville and Clarksville, Tenn. areas, and expanding its support of two of Second Harvest’s signature fundraising efforts.
“Food insecurity is a great issue in our community, and we are proud to be able to give back through mobility to the people who need additional support,” said Curtis Brison, President of Hankook Tire America Corp. “Second Harvest is making a monumental impact to help those struggling in more rural areas, and it is our honor to help the organization achieve its mission to drive out hunger in Middle Tennessee.”
To further help ensure that nutritious food is distributed to those who need it most, Hankook will host three mobile pantries across the Clarksville area. The first takes place this Saturday, June 25 at 9:00 a.m. at Salem Community Church, 2269 7 Mile Ferry Road, in Clarksville. Hankook also will sponsor a Mobile Pantry on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 9:00 a.m., with a third to be planned in early 2023.
In addition, Hankook acted as a stage sponsor during the Stars for Second Harvest benefit concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium earlier this month. Hankook will also sponsor the Feeding Hope media campaign, held later this year.
“With Hankook’s support, Second Harvest has been able to reach many more communities in the last year, and we are grateful to see the company continue its efforts to help us raise more awareness and funds in the months ahead,” said Nancy Keil, president & CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. “Currently, 1 in 8 Middle and West Tennesseans are unsure of when or where their next meal is coming from. Partners like Hankook enable our organization to provide much-needed food to those who need in our community.”
