How We Work
At Hankook Tire, we are leaders that never stop looking for new possibilities as we pave the future with passion and a clear set of goals. This proactive leadership, which raises the company’s value and capabilities, allows our dream of becoming a leading global tire company to become reality.
The safety of the driver is directly related to the quality of the tires. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to test finished products at different testing centers. Since I began working at Hankook Tire in 1992, I've performed vehicle tests all over the world, including Nurburgring in Germany, the winter testing facility in New Zealand, the Michelin testing facility in the United States, the Porsche testing facility, and the BMW testing facility in Munich. I also gained a wide range of valuable experience by working for three years at the Europe Technology Center, our research facility in Germany.
The vehicle testing team is in charge of the last step in tire development, and we do our best to develop optimal tires for cars newly developed by a number of automotive companies around the world. Currently, I am working to collect data from a variety of instruments installed on the inside and outside of vehicles which have been newly developed by a well-known German automobile company. I also test tire performance subjectively by personally driving the car and judging based on my years of experience. My responsibility is to help newly released vehicles to perform their best, and thus I am proud of my work.
My day begins with inspecting test tires and vehicles. After confirming that the tires are properly assembled and installed, I perform a number of tests. My main duty is identifying the positive and negative attributes of tires while driving. Even if the vehicle’s performance is great, if the tires do not perform well, the vehicle cannot achieve its full potential. I even do my best not to miss the small things. Hankook Tire tests tires not only at controlled testing sites, but also on icy and rainy roads. In that process, I inspect tires to see whether there are any defects or wear and look for ways to improve tire performance.
With over 20 years of experience testing tires, my objective is producing tires that drivers completely trust. In the future, I would also like to support younger employees who enthusiastically contribute to the sustainable growth of Hankook Tire and participate in the development of high-quality tires for a long time.
