Seoul, Korea, January 13, 2021 – The 2021 season of the 24H SERIES to which Hankook Tire exclusively supplies tires will begin its 11-month race with its opening race in Dubai for three days from January 14.
The 24H SERIES powered by Hankook is the world's largest endurance race in which the world's premium supercars such as Porsche 991, Lamborghini Huracán, Mercedes-AMG GT4 and Audi R8 run through advanced circuits for 24 hours without any stops. It 2021 season will be made up of eight rounds in seven countries including Italy, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain and the United States with the opening round of HANKOOK 24H DUBAI. The GT-division and the TCE-division will continue to run as separate entities.
HANKOOK 24H DUBAI is set to be held at the 5.39km Dubai Autodrome located in the middle of a desert. Considering the geographical condition, where strong sandstorms occur and the climate conditions are mercurial, tires should present the highest level of durability and grip. Tires’ performance hold the key to racing since tires are essential in agile cornering and perfect braking in such extreme driving environments.
Hankook Tire has been exclusively supplying tires since 2015 as the official title sponsor of ‘24H SERIES’ based on world-class quality and technology, proving its global top-tier technology and premium brand value. All of the cars participating in the competition will be equipped with Hankook Tires' racing tires and the official name '24H Series Powered by Hankook Tire' will be used in all official events.
In the 2020 season, the AtlasBX Motorsports team, sponsored by Hankook Tire, participated in the 24H SERIES for the first time to score a GT4 class win at the 24H DUBAI 2020 upon its debut.
Hankook is leading the development of the global motorsports culture, supplying racing tires to over 60 global motorsports competitions or teams around the world. Hankook was recently selected as the exclusive supplier to the “ABB FIA Formula E World Series” from the 2022/23 season when the Gen3 racing cars will be introduced to the world’s most prestigious electric vehicle racing competition.
