On the day, Ms. Katalin Szili, Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament said, “We appreciate your decision for massive investment in Hungary. The government will do our best to assist Hankook Tire in its quest to become the world’s top 5 tire maker.”

On July 14th, Hankook Tire held the ground breaking ceremony at a site in the Dunaujvaros region, near the Hungarian capital of Budapest, and initiated the construction of its fifth factory. The plant is expected to function as Hankook Tire’s European outpost.

Hankook Tire is reinforcing its strategy to expand its presence in Europe to develop into a major brand. The company signed a series of supply contracts with European auto makers and has been taking an active part in tire performance tests carried out by Germany’s leading auto magazines.
